8 Chifley Square

AR-MA was integral to the design and construction of the striking glass box lobby in Sydney's 8 Chifley tower, a project by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Lipmann Partnership. This project marked another successful collaboration between AR-MA, Empire Facades, and ARUP, with the goal of creating an ethereal entryway into the new breed of office tower.

The 5-metre tall glass box lobby is a signature feature of the tower, suspended from 6mm cables from the level 6 slab above. It incorporates a frameless louvre system, spinning portholes, revolving doors, retail glazing, cafe retail core walls, and awnings, embodying the state-of-the-art construction technologies and generous civic attitude that the building represents.

AR-MA's role in this project was comprehensive, detailing all the mechanical fixings, including custom spider fittings for manufacture, as well as overseeing the full glass production in Germany. Their work helped bring to life the expressed detailing characteristic of much of RSH+P's work, culminating in a visually stunning and functionally efficient lobby area.
