Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Lipmann Partnership’s 8 Chifley provides Sydney with a new breed of office tower, combining state-of-the-art construction technologies and a generous, civic attitude. AR-MA worked with Empire Glass & Aluminium and ARUP to detail design the Chifley Glass Lobby Box for the new Rogers Stirk Harbour building at 8 Chifley Square. This involved the design and construction of a free standing 5 metre high triple laminated glass lobby box suspended from 6mm cables off level 6 slab above incorporating frameless louvre system, spinning port holes, revolving doors, retail glazing, café retail core walls and awnings. AR-MA detailed all the mechanical fixings, including custom spider fittings for manufacture as well as full glass production in Germany.
