AR-MA assisted artist Chris Fox to design and deliver Convergence – an ambitious site specific sculpture for Global Switch’s ParisData Centre. The project was executed over a span of two years (2010-2011) and uses over 370 meters of steel section.
AR-MA developed custom software modelling tools to allow real-time modelling of the spline-based forms during design and engineering while preserving buildability. Following design, AR-MA rationalised the forms,optimised material use, and developed advanced fabrication strategies facilitatingthe realisation of the project. AR-MA utilised its design and fabrication model for output of tender documentation, and workshop drawings for fabrication.
